Piano Students to Present Tchaikovsy’s The Seasons in Full
Piano Minor students within the studio of Dr. Olga Kleiankina will collaboratively present Tchaikovsky’s The Seasons on February 18th, 2018. The piece, which is performed in twelve movements representative of each month of the year, will be performed in full. Each student will present a different movement, and Dr. Kleiankina will perform two as well.
The Seasons is widely regarded as one of the greatest classical compositions of the Romanic period. NC State Piano Minor students will also perform the piece at the Triangle Russian Festival on February 3rd, which celebrates the birthplace of the work’s composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
It is unusual for undergraduate piano students to present such a challenging work in this collaborative fashion, but Dr. Kleiankina is sure her students are up to the challenge. “It really highlights the strength of our music minors,” said Dr. Kleiankina.
Tickets are available at go.ncsu.edu/concerts or at the door. The performance will take place in Titmus Theatre at 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 18th.
