Wind Ensemble to Perform Concert 3/1

Students and community members will have the chance to ring in the month of March with the NC State Wind Ensemble. Their first concert of the semester will take place on Thursday, March 1st at 7:00 PM in Stewart Theatre within Talley Student Union.

The program features works spanning over a century. This includes Petite Suite by Claude Debussay, originally composed as a piano duet and arranged for Winds by Frank Winterbottom. The full ensemble will also perform Vincent Persichetti’s Symphony for Band, which has been described as a cornerstone of wind band repertoire.

In addition to performances by the full ensemble, the concert will feature several performances by smaller student groups within the Winds. The Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, and Trumpet sections as well as a Woodwind Quintet will all perform separate pieces.
