I have been playing cello for nine years.

So far my experience in the symphony has been very fun and fulfilling. I really enjoy being able to forget my stresses of the day and take a break every Monday night to work on beautiful music with some very talented people.

I was in the UNC School of the Arts High School Program, so this is my first year not being a ‘music major’ and being in the symphony has helped me feel more at home here at NC State. I am able to quickly relate to other musicians with anecdotes from rehearsals and music jokes which will always be reassuring to me. Music crosses all barriers and is a wonderful way to bring people together no matter their differences.
