Audience Carol:
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
You know Dasher and Dancer, Prancer and Vixen
Comet and Cupid, Donner and Blitzen
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all?
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glowed
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games
Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say (hey Rudolph)
Rudolph, with your nose so bright,
Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight
Then how the reindeer loved him,
As they shouted out with glee:
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
You’ll go down in history

Welcome and Notes on the Program
Welcome to our annual Holiday Choral Concert, back for the first time since December of 2019. It’s a festive time of year, and we’re glad to have you with us. Please raise your voices and join with us in singing the audience carols.
Kuumba, which represents creativity, is the sixth principle of Kwanzaa, a holiday which celebrates family, community, and culture.
The students who are wearing corsages are graduating this December. We are proud to honor their academic achievement and wish them well as move to the next phase of their professional lives.

Translations
Personent Hodie
Latin
Personent hodie voces puerulae,
laudantes jucunde
Qui nobis est natus, summo Deo datus,
Et de virgineo ventre procreatus.
In mundo nascitur, pannis involvitur
praesepi ponitur
Stabulo brutorum, rector supernorum.
Perdidit spolia princeps infernorum.
Magi tres venerunt, parvulum inquirunt,
parvulum inquirunt,
Stellulam sequendo, ipsum adorando,
Aurum, thus, et myrrham ei offerendo.
Omnes clericuli, pariter pueri, cantent ut
angeli:
Advenisti mundo,
Gloria in excelsis Deo.
English
On this day youthful voices sing aloud,
joyful praising Him
who was born for us,
given by God, born of a virgin.
Born into the world, wrapped in
swaddling clothes,laid in a manger
in an animals’ stable, Ruler of all,
The Prince of Hell is robbed of his spoils!
Three Magi came and offered their gifts.
They sought the child,
following a star, in adoration
offering gold, incense and myrrh.
All clerks and choristers sing with angels:
“You have come into the world;
Glory to God in the Highest!”
