I think [being a drum major is] a really unique way to serve an organization…it’s just an amazing opportunity to stand in front of any horn line, both at Boston [Crusaders] and here at NC State, and to get to see the big picture of the show and big picture of your group.

Student spotlight
In the latest episode of our student spotlight series, we’re introducing you to music performance minor Gage Fringer, the 2021-22 recipient of the Toni Christine Masini Memorial Scholarship. Gage is a senior majoring in computer science, a trumpet section leader in the marching band, and a member of the jazz orchestra and pep band. This semester he will perform in his final recital to complete his minor in trumpet performance. Gage is also a music department student ambassador. Follow us on Instagram and Twitter to hear more from our ambassadors as we prepare for Day of Giving on March 23.

Day of Giving is coming up on March 23! Save the date and join us in #GivingPack to support something you love, the Department of Music.
This year, your gift can have an even greater impact. Help us unlock a $25,000 gift on Day of Giving! If we receive 125 gifts to the Music Enhancement Fund by 11:59 p.m. on March 23, we’ll receive a challenge gift from a generous anonymous donor couple. With your help we can sustain and expand the opportunities we provide to NC State’s student-musicians.
