In Virginia Beach, VA, he started playing violin in his 5th-grade string class and made the transition to viola in 7th grade. Since then, he has performed in multiple honor ensembles up to the state level. He started the music-performance minor to enhance his passion for classical music and foster a creative outlet.
Outside of academics and music, Andrew enjoys spending time with friends, and family and taking part in service activities. After graduation, he hopes to perform in community ensembles in his free time.

About the Performer
Benjamin Rutledge
“I am so very excited to be finishing up the music minor! I am graduating in May with a degree in Religious Studies and a minor in Vocal Performance. I have learned so much over the past five semesters about how to better my voice to become a more skilled performer and artist. I have been able to clearly communicate a message through my pieces, adapting to any audience. Going forward, I plan to teach in a Christian school and enroll in Shepherd’s Theological Seminary.”
