Experience what it’s like to be a college band member. High school band students are invited to join the Power Sound of the South® for NC State Band Day and experience college game day firsthand alongside the NC State marching band.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can attend Band Day?
High school students who are active members of their school marching bands—including drumline, color guard, majorettes and dance teams—are eligible to participate in Band Day. Band directors who bring students may also receive a complimentary ticket and experience the Power Sound of the South up close.
There is no cost to participate in Band Day.
What will students do during Band Day?
- Practice with the Power Sound of the South before the game.
- Eat lunch with the band.
- Experience pregame traditions.
- Watch the Power Sound of the South’s pregame performance from the stands at Carter-Finley Stadium.
- Enjoy the football game with fellow musicians.
- Perform during the NC State marching band’s halftime show.
How do I register for Band Day?
Registration typically opens in early August. Visit gopack.com/bandday for details and registration information.
What should I bring to Band Day?
- Instrument in its case with a clearly marked name tag.
- Sousaphones and drumline instruments should not bring cases.
- Color guard flag (tall pole).
- Clear bags are permitted inside the stadium. Do not bring bags or backpacks that are not clear.
- Review the stadium’s bag policy for more information.
- One water bottle (with seal unbroken or empty) will be permitted inside.
- There will be water stations inside the stadium where you can fill it.
- Money for concessions.
- Carter-Finley Stadium is a cashless venue.
- School band T-shirt and shorts to change into if you are wearing a uniform.
