Discover live music and dance featuring work by NC State students, faculty, ensembles and guest artists. Our dance companies, choirs, concert bands, jazz ensembles and orchestras perform in at least one formal concert each semester. Ticket Central
Ticket Central is NC State’s central box office for performing arts events. The Department of Performing Arts and Technology uses Ticket Central for ticketed music and dance performances.
Ticketing FAQs
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased in advance online or by phone. They also may be available at the box office before a performance, subject to availability.
If a performance is not ticketed through Ticket Central, the Department of Performing Arts and Technology will indicate where tickets are available.
When do tickets go on sale?
Ticket sales typically begin about a month after the start of each semester. The Department of Performing Arts and Technology announces specific on-sale dates near the beginning of the semester.
How much do tickets cost?
Ticket prices vary by audience. See the pricing table below for current ticket rates.
What payment methods are accepted?
Ticket Central is cashless. American Express, Mastercard and VISA credit and debit cards are accepted.
Do NC State students receive free tickets?
Eligible NC State students may claim one free ticket using their student ID and an exclusive coupon code during the designated free ticket window. See Free Student Tickets for dates and instructions.

We highly encourage patrons to purchase tickets before the free student ticket window opens for their intended performance, as performances may sell out.

Ticket Central WebsiteFree Tickets for Students
NC State students may claim one free ticket per student ID for eligible performances during the designated free ticket window. The event’s page in Ticket Central will display different information depending on whether the free ticket window is upcoming, open or closed.
Before the free ticket window
When public tickets go on sale, a red banner will appear at the top of the your events ticketing page. The banner will provide the date and time when free NC State student tickets become available.
During the free ticket window
When the free ticket window opens, a new banner will appear at the top of the Ticket Central purchase page. The banner will provide the free ticket end date, one-ticket-per-ID limit, coupon code and ncsu.edu email requirement.
To claim your free ticket:
- Enter the coupon in the coupon box on the purchase page.
- Select Apply, then Continue.
- The free ticket will appear at the top of the screen. Select + to choose 1 NC State Student Comp.
- If needed, select additional tickets to purchase.
- Select Buy Seat.
- Log in to your MyTixx account or select Sign Up to create an account using your ncsu.edu email address.
- Review your shopping cart and complete your order. Your ticket(s) will be sent by email.
After the free ticket window
Once the free ticket window has closed, the red free ticket banner will disappear.
Select Continue to view all available discounts, including the $4.66 NC State Student ticket.

DPAT’s formal concerts generally take place in Stewart Theatre with occasional performances in the Kennedy-McIlwee Studio Theatre in Frank Thompson Hall. Directions to both theatres are below. You can explore additional campus locations on NC State’s Campus Map.

Transit
Talley Student Union is situated near the bus stops at:
- Morrill Dr at Cates Ave
- Morrill Dr at Carmichael Gym
- Reynolds Coliseum
- Dunn Ave at Jeter Dr (Coliseum Parking Deck)
These stops are serviced by campus Wolfline buses and by municipal GoRaleigh buses.
Parking
Free parking is available after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends in the Coliseum Parking Deck and Jeter Drive parking lot. Weekday parking from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. is available in the hourly pay lot on the lower level of the Coliseum Parking Deck.
On Campus Food and Refreshments
Grab-and-go food and beverage options are available in Talley Student Union one floor below Stewart Theatre. Options and hours vary. All NC State Dining locations are cashless.
- Talley Pavilions is a food court on the main level of Talley Student Union. It offers a variety of quick-service dining options, making it a convenient place to grab a meal or snack before a performance.
- Talley Market is a convenience market on the main level of Talley Student Union at 2610 Cates Ave. It offers grab-and-go food, snacks and beverages, along with Howling Cow ice cream, NC State’s own locally made ice cream.
Please note: food in the theatre is strictly prohibited.
