Summer Camps
Our music camps give high school students new skills, new friends and new ways of thinking about music.
Think and do something different this summer by attending one of our high school music camps for a deep dive into electronic music or marching band conducting. All of our camps are guided by a team of highly qualified faculty, clinicians, and guest speakers, and provide a glimpse into what it’s like to attend NC State University.
Our day camps last five days and do not involve overnight stays, making them an affordable option for busy families.
2023 summer camps will run from June 12-16, 2023 and June 19-23, 2023. You can find information about each camp below!
Not sure which electronic music camp to choose?
Our Intro to Electronic Music Camp is for students new to music software applications and/or music composition. You’ll learn how to compose a song using software, how to structure and use digital instruments and effects, how to use physical audio equipment as a foundation, and basic music theory.
If you’ve composed electronic music using software applications and have a music theory background, sign up for our Electronic Music Production Camp. You’ll dig into complex effects and mixing, creating sounds from scratch, and composing a score for a short film.
How to register
To register for camp you’ll need to create a Brickyard account in our Reporter system. The parent account guide will walk you through the process.
Registration closes on June 1 or when all spots are filled. Spaces are limited so register early.
Getting around campus
The interactive campus map will help you find any building on campus as well as directions.
The Music Technology Camp sessions will take place in Broughton Hall.
The Drum Major Leadership Camp sessions will take place in Price Music Center.
For both camps, parking for drop off and pick up is available in the Coliseum Parking Deck. Parents will need to walk with their students to the building each day.
