Celebrating a Century of Making Music Together
For a century, music has united NC State students across all disciplines and perspectives, fostering a dynamic community driven by shared interests and passions.
The Music Department was established in 1924, with NC State’s Alma Mater composed in 1925 and the “Fight Song” in 1926. Today, music is interwoven through a student’s journey, creating a soundtrack for NC State, and students of any major have opportunities to participate in renowned choirs, music ensembles, student music organizations, courses and degree programs. This milestone allows us to look back at our history and show our appreciation for music at NC State and the lasting impact it leaves on all members of the Wolfpack.
Join the Department of Performing Arts and Technology as we celebrate 100 years of music at NC State.
