Bio

Brianna Forbes (MFA) is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Performing Arts & Technology, specializing in Street Dance forms including Hip Hop, House, and Amapiano. She is passionate about Restorative Justice, Humanitarian Relief, and Street Dance.

Forbes is a proud dancer with Dance Now Cry Later, and serves as a Board Member for Dance Project in Greensboro, NC, which hosts the annual North Carolina Dance Festival. She also maintains an active membership with the Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management. Through her Restorative Justice Project, Forbes20Tour, she mentors collegiate dancers across the United States while producing and facilitating community performances and workshops for positive change. One of her most recent international collaborations includes partnering with NGO Peace Ambassadors to the United Nations on a Global Water Sustainability project between Artists, Public Policy Leaders, and Educators in the United States and Ghana.

Forbes received her Master of Fine Arts in Choreography along with her K-12 teaching licensure from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). She enjoys teaching and choreographing for students of all ages, and using arts activism to continuously build and restore communities.
